November 2009

Apologies for the lack of updates here, it's been a very busy time for us at Impossible. Castle Farm continues apace, and is looking absolutely great. With the superb vocal performances from Kate O'Sullivan, Bob Golding, Simon Mattocks, and starring Chloe Angharrad as Farmgirl and Laura May Alsop as her best friend Piggy. The stories are beautifully accompanied by Gareth Cousins' fabulous score, and the series is shaping up to be an undoubted hit.
In non-TV news, our first ever feature film script is with the commissioning body right now. Very exiting for us here!
And we've started production of possibly our biggest ever series, a major international project that has meant new offices, new staff and new challenges. More news on that very soon!

We're delighted to announce a brand-new series just going into production. CASTLE FARM is a preschool series for Five and Milkshake, about Farm Girl, Piggy and their animal friends on a lovely rural farm. The unique animation style is a mix of 2D and 3D animation, hand-drawn elements blending with CG techniques and models to create a beautiful, distinctive look. Irish illustrator Corrina Askin came up with the concept and will design all the characters and backgrounds. Impossible's in-house team will produce the series in the UK, with series producer John Higgs leading the team. Head animator Peter Addington is in charge of turning Corrina's gorgeous drawings into animatable characters, after doing the same on the pilot we made last year.
The series will be completed by the end of the year, for airing on Milkshake in 2010. The series is being distributed by Parthenon and will be launched at Mipcom in Cannes this Autumn.

Imagine being able to be able to get yourself into whatever is on your TV set - that's the fantastical premise behind TERRY VISION, a 52 x 11 minute animated series for 6-12 year olds, packed full of comedy, action, adventure and drama. Every episode features Terry in a brand-new TV show, from a sci-fi series to a classic western, as a superhero or in an ad as a sports personality selling track shoes, from reality programmes through sitcoms, sports, gameshows, movies, news, documentaries, factual shows and even other cartoons! Terry is stuck in at the deep end, no idea where he is, with only his wits to guide him. It also gives us a great opportunity for humour, in the form of spoof TV programmes that our audience will know and love. The scenarios are as varied as every TV show on every channel ever!
Below we see Terry when he's inside a talent show and expected to sing. Gulp!
TERRY VISION was presented at Cartoon Forum 2007 by Alan Miles of Brighton-based animation house Ministry of Toons, and Alan has teamed up with Impossible to develop the idea into a series. A full treatment is available from our usual address, alongside storyline documents and lots and lots of fantastic designs. More news as and when we get it!

Sorry for the lack of news for a while, it's been all go at Impossible Towers. We're currently working on two broadcast series and two pilots so it's all hands on deck. As has been announced elsewhere, we're making twenty nursery rhyme animations for Milkshake's Music Box show, to air shortly on Five. Each song is brought to life using stylish 2D animation. The pilots are top secret, one being a charming 2D series, one a cutting-edge realistic 3D idea. More news as and when it happens!
